ABOUT US

After realizing the formidable textile void in Montreal's fashion market, Christopher Higgins established Globe-Tex Enterprises in 2004.

Most textile wholesalers cater to the manufacturing sector of the fashion industry, leaving the smaller manufacturers and designers of Montreal with limited options in sourcing fashionable fabrics at a good price for their collections. Hence…. Globe-Tex Enterprise was born!

The staff at Globe-Tex are known to go to great measures in helping designers (big or small) to source fabrics, even having textiles made domestically for some clients! The philosophy at Globe-Tex is to support its client base, promote local business and strive to bring domestic production back to Montreal.  Always happy to work closely with designers to meet their goals, Chris and his staff consider clients as partners: working together towards the collective mission!

Over the years, Globe-Tex has supplied many successful designers from Montreal and across Canada and continue to provide the fashion industry with trend setting collections. Globe-Tex carries a wide range of fabrics to satisfy the needs of its patrons. You can find anything from bamboo, soya/spandex to wool cashmere and liquid foil. We at Globe-Tex realize that there are no longer any seasons when it comes to our customers’ needs. We carry fabrics from any season at any given time, to better satisfy our customers.

Design students are always welcome, they are the future of the fashion industry! Designers are the manufacturers of the future and students are the designers of the future.

Many designers have referred to a visit at Globe-Tex as the equivalent to being a kid in a candy store. Fabrics range from jerseys, sweater knits, wools, wool blends, linens and linen blends, cottons, suitings, silks, satins, organzas, laces, boucles, and much more, in a vast array of prints and colors.  We provide many options -- you need only bring your imagination!

Whether you are a professional or home sewer, come pay us a visit. You will be happy you did!
